Since May 2020, we have spent every day on our farm construction site. The extraordinary and still not easy time has presented us with enormous challenges. Nothing turned out as we planned, almost every day we sent well-thought-out details into the universe and had to start anew. The result of our rollercoaster ride was an adventure of spontaneity. What could have been done quickly took time due to international events.

We hope that our guests will enjoy our potpourri. Not only do fruit trees, hedges, flowers, and grass thrive here, but the guest house will continue to grow and some quirks had to, and will continue to fall under the chapter of "charm of history". In summer, it will be pleasantly cool, in winter, it will be sufficiently heated. Cozy slippers and warm sweaters are part of life in the countryside.

I have been living in Lieper Winkel for three years, braving the storms, dancing in the rain, listening to the seasons, and have not regretted it. There is silence here. The deep, vast, and special silence that we need to listen to ourselves and to each other. In this sense, we will continue to work and look forward to many beautiful hours with guests from all over the world!

SPECIAL THANKS ❤️

For the hard manual work in special times, the patience, the strength for setbacks and new beginnings, for good ideas and flashes of inspiration, for the delicious humor, we thank Alexander Krause, Joaquin Lou Adamski, Leon Andries, Kai-Uwe Jacobi and Volkmar Orth.

Story of Victors Farmhaus

And every beginning holds a magic within...

My love for the island of Usedom began 23 years ago. There were few small hotels, many fish shacks, and scattered rare shops. The beach and the hinterland belonged to few visitors, and the Usedomers welcomed the first guests with their special kind: friendly, calm, and extraordinary. We traveled here as often as possible to discover the many surprises and natural wonders of the island, especially those of Lieper Winkel.

We discovered Peenehof during a walk to Achterwasser with our then-small son in 2005. A chain of events, a few rabbits, mini pigs, and snow-white sheep brought us together with the generous four-sided courtyard in 2020.

For two and a half years, we worked tirelessly on an immense transformation, facing great challenges along the way.

The old manor house, now Victor's Farmhaus, was patiently and lovingly turned into a guesthouse that can accommodate eight guests in two apartments that can be combined into one house.

We collected family mementos, found objects discovered during the renovation, drawings and works by artists we know, and more, to bring past and present into harmony for you.

Here I hear the sound of every silence...the sound of the quiet moon...the sound of the vast stars...the sound of the deep soft earth...the sound of the sleeping lake...the sound of sneaking cats...the sound of dreaming storks and hovering little swifts and bats. The silence in the garden resonates and vibrates. (Michéle 2021)

For me, everything means sound. Life, the world, nature, everything is a interplay of delicate vibrations.

Even the unusual silence typical for the Lieper Winkel resonates. Often it is so quiet that you can hear the insects wander and the stars sing. While visitors may need to adjust to the silence, it is a reliable companion for deep introspection and relaxation.

Wide open land. The early morning hours quickly come to life and village and farm life can begin. The chickens and geese on the neighboring properties awaken, the cows demand their feed with loud mooing, and the sheep and goats too. Welcome to village life!

Our summer meadow grows and works all year round. Everywhere there is the scent of lavender, chamomile, earth, and fresh grass!

The nature in Lieper Winkel is beautiful at any time of the year. Our village is located at the end of the large pan, between the Peene River and the Achterwasser. There, fields, cow and horse pastures, moorlands, small rivers, forests, and nature reserves meet. From the farmhouse, you can hike in all directions and just two hundred meters away are small natural beaches that invite you to paddle or swim.

Our field barn will keep us busy for a long time. The old lady needs a lot of patience, love, and creativity. We have already saved the roof and some of the gates are shining again.

Currently (Winter22/23'), the Hamburg and Berlin-based artists Lili Nalovi & Jesko Willert have worked on the vast space and transformed it into an enchanting environment.

In spring, we will open the barn for you. There will probably be soft music playing, "a ship will come" and who knows what surprises and experiences await you there.

The silence in the garden resonates and vibrates. (Michéle 2021)

To me, everything means sound. Life, the world, nature, everything is an interplay of fine vibrations.

Even the unusual silence typical of Lieper Winkel resonates. Often it is so quiet that you can hear insects wander and stars sing. While visitors may need to get used to the silence, it is a safe companion for deep inner reflection and relaxation.

Apartment- 6 guests

We have designed our farm for guests who are seeking absolute peace, healing, relaxation, and seclusion. Therefore, we offer rentals exclusively for adults without accompanying animals.

(You can learn about and book you’re healing and relaxation with mental training and sound-bowls: www.maison-victor.com)

For those who wish to travel with children and pets, there are plenty of beautiful options for families with children and animals in the surrounding area. You can find houses and apartments at www.urlaub-usedom.de. The manor house can be rented together, meaning that both apartments can be combined to accommodate eight people.

The large apartment for six people is located on the village side and is surrounded by a stone garden and a small courtyard. Colorful shrubs, ground cover, and herbs grow in the garden. My favorite is the Douglas fir shrub. In the first year, I underestimated this powerfully glowing shrub. Over time, the beautiful clusters won me over and soon the garden will be populated with them. On one side, the guest garden is protected by an old brick wall, while the street side opens up to a view of the neighborhood.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious kitchen with elements that invite you to cook and linger. The small living room offers cozy seating for six people, books, records, and a small fireplace. In the lower area, there is a spacious shower room with a bathtub and a bedroom for two people.

Please note that we will continue to make changes from time to time, so don't be surprised if you find something slightly different than previously shown.

In the attic, you will find two additional living/bedrooms (the green and orange rooms) and a small shower room. The shower, floors, and walls are equipped with a traditional Italian plaster technique called "Unico," which creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere in the small bathroom.

The entire house is furnished with artworks from friends and acquaintances, including works by the internationally renowned artist HP Adamski (www.hp-adamski.de). The apartments have been largely furnished with collector's items and family memories, and the nearly 150-year-old house has been renovated to the greatest extent possible in accordance with ecological guidelines

Apartment 2 guests

The small apartment consists of a small bedroom facing the large green courtyard on the ground floor, a spacious shower room with a bathtub, a small kitchen with living space, and a bright living studio with a beautiful view up to the Achterwasser.

The terrace is facing the former orchard and is intended for two people.During the rental period, the unit is entered through the terrace door and is designed for two people.

The furnishings consist of collector's items and personal memorabilia, and the art on the walls is largely from the Berlin artist HP Adamski, who has given some of the found objects on the farm a new life.

  • The apartments can be combined into one house for 8 persons.

You can combine the apartments and use the house with 8 people. Teamwork, team trips, film or photo shoots, retreats and salons, among others, are organized by Maison Victor and can also be requested and booked by you by arrangement.

The garden

Our garden. When we first saw the large property, something held us back. The old trees and the overgrown ground seemed to whisper, "Stay here and make something out of me." We took on the challenge. We had to cut down some trees with heavy hearts, but we'll be able to sit on the trunks. Some meadows that always dried out in the sun were sacrificed for the sake of groundwater consumption and turned into stone and gravel areas, which will soon be covered with typical island plants. The orchard is getting a new look, and the old chestnut tree is being cared for. All of this will take time, but the old garden presents us with a very beautiful task.
